​"Superman" is an upcoming superhero film directed by James Gunn, scheduled for release on July 11, 2025. Serving as the inaugural movie in DC Studios' Chapter One: Gods and Monsters, the film reintroduces audiences to the iconic character of Superman. David Corenswet stars as Clark Kent/Superman, with Rachel Brosnahan portraying Lois Lane.The narrative explores Superman's internal struggle to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing in Smallville, Kansas.  The ensemble cast includes Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, and Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner/Green Lantern. The film also features Alan Tudyk and introduces Krypto the Superdog, inspired by Gunn's own pet.  The first trailer hints at a hopeful tone, with Superman depicted as a symbol of truth and justice in a complex world.
